The IQ app provides advanced mapping and automated features, but it does not have no-go zones. These are only available on iRobot robots. The smart-pathing navigation system provides greater maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode is clean well, although it does have a tendency to get caught up in rug tassels. Its iHome speaker allows you to operate the robot by voice commands.
During our tests, the IQ was capable of handling pet hair with ease, removing an impressive amount of debris from bare floors and fair amounts on medium-pile carpet. It was less effective on shag carpets. It had a hard time reaching dirt and dust embedded within the fibers. It was able navigate the legs of chairs, small spaces and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was a little slower on bare floors, but it regained speed and performed more thoroughly than the other robots we tested.
The IQ is a better choice over the iRobot Roomba 694 for most applications. It has a larger dustbin and a longer battery life and is better in navigating around obstacles. It also comes with mopping attachments that are able to tackle sticky mess. The iRobot, however, feels better built, has fewer components that require maintenance or replacement and incurs fewer cost per year, and can create virtual no go zones with its companion application. It is able to even resume a cleaning session from where it left off in case it is unable to recharge its battery prior to it has completed the task. The iRobot is also controlled by voice commands, which is a big plus for many users.
Eufy 11S
The RoboVac 11S from Eufy isn't the most feature-rich robot vacuum on the market but it does provide powerful cleaning capabilities at a low price.
